Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and promotes cell turnover. There are two types: physical exfoliants, which use scrubbing particles, and chemical exfoliants like AHAs and BHAs. While physical exfoliation should be limited to avoid irritation, chemical exfoliants can be gentler and more effective with regular use. Over-exfoliation can damage the skin barrier, so it’s best to exfoliate 1–3 times a week depending on skin sensitivity. This practice helps achieve smoother, clearer, and more radiant skin.
